Make the leap from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course on the Perhentian Islands, off Malaysia's east coast. The sheltered, bath-warm waters around Long Beach and Coral Bay on Perhentian Kecil give instructor candidates a calm, forgiving classroom to rehearse teaching presentations and master standards before sitting the independent Instructor Examination. You finish ready to certify divers of your own and join the worldwide community of PADI professionals.
The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which is conducted independently by a PADI Examiner. On passing the IE you become a teaching member of PADI with a renewable instructor certification and access to the worldwide PADI jobs network.
Teaching workshops use the sheltered, shallow bays off Long Beach and Coral Bay on Perhentian Kecil, where calm conditions and water around 27-30°C through the March-to-October season make an ideal low-stress environment to rehearse confined- and open-water teaching. The independent Instructor Examination is conducted separately by a PADI Examiner at a designated IE location.
