Cross from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course on Koh Tao, the island that certifies more divers than anywhere else on earth. Candidates rehearse classroom, confined-water and open-water teaching presentations in the warm 28-30C Gulf of Thailand before sitting the independent Instructor Examination, finishing ready to certify their own students at sites such as Twins, White Rock and Chumphon Pinnacle.
The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which is conducted independently by a PADI Examiner. Passing the IE makes you a teaching member of PADI with a renewable Open Water Scuba Instructor rating and access to the worldwide PADI jobs network.
Teaching workshops run from Koh Tao's sheltered training bays such as Mango Bay and Japanese Gardens, with deeper presentations at Twins, White Rock and Chumphon Pinnacle. Diving is possible year-round in the 28-30C Gulf, with the calmest, clearest conditions from March to May.
