Cross the line from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course on Gili Trawangan, where warm 27-29°C water and the island's gentle, current-fed reefs give candidates a forgiving stage to rehearse teaching presentations. With turtle-rich sites like Turtle Heaven and Shark Point a short boat ride away, you build the standards, demonstrations and risk-management skills needed to sit the Instructor Examination and certify divers of your own.
The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which is conducted independently by a PADI Examiner. On passing the IE you become a teaching member of PADI with a renewable Open Water Scuba Instructor rating and access to the worldwide PADI jobs network.
Teaching workshops run on Gili Trawangan's calm, easy-access reefs and turtle hotspots such as Turtle Heaven and Shark Point, where mild currents and 27-29°C water year-round (best April-November) make a low-stress environment to rehearse confined and open-water teaching. The Instructor Examination is conducted separately by a PADI Examiner at a designated IE location.
