Cross from leading dives to teaching them with the PADI Instructor Development Course, set against the UNESCO-listed reefs of Baa Atoll in the Maldives. Candidates rehearse classroom, confined-water and open-water teaching presentations in the warm, clear lagoons around Dharavandhoo before sitting the independent Instructor Examination. You finish ready to certify your own students and join the worldwide network of PADI professionals.
The PADI IDC trains and assesses you against PADI standards, then prepares you for the Instructor Examination, which is conducted independently by a PADI Examiner. On passing the IE you become a teaching member of PADI with a renewable instructor rating and access to the global PADI jobs network.
Teaching workshops use the sheltered house reefs and channels near Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, where warm 27-30°C water and gentle conditions create a forgiving setting to rehearse before certifying real students.
