Course overview

Learn to explore the ocean on a single breath with the PADI Freediver course on Koh Tao, whose calm, warm and clear Gulf waters are ideal for breath-hold training. Over confined-water and open-water sessions you develop breathing techniques and equalisation to reach a target depth of around 16 metres on a guided line.

The PADI Freediving pathway

The PADI Freediver certification covers static apnoea, dynamic apnoea and constant-weight freediving to a target depth, with safety and buddy procedures. It is a recognised entry-level freediving qualification.

Where you'll dive in Koh Tao

Freediving uses Koh Tao's calm, clear bays and a depth line in the warm 28-30C Gulf, conditions well suited to breath-hold training. The clearest, calmest water runs from March to May.
