The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver course on the Perhentian Islands lets you breathe oxygen-rich blends to extend bottom time and shorten surface intervals, valuable on repetitive island diving and on deeper sites like the Sugar Wreck and the Pinnacle. It is largely a knowledge course, with options to apply your training on local dives.
PADI Enriched Air Diver certifies you to dive with blends up to 40 percent oxygen. It can be completed without dives but is commonly paired with at least one training dive to practise analysing and logging the blend.
Enriched air pays off on the Perhentians' repetitive daily diving and deeper sites such as the Sugar Wreck and the Pinnacle, where extended no-decompression limits give you more bottom time in the warm March-to-October waters.
