Course overview

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty in Papua New Guinea lets you extend your no-decompression bottom time across the long reef and seamount dives of Kimbe Bay. Learning to analyse enriched-air mixes and set your computer correctly, you get more time among the bay's coral-covered seamounts and reef walls on repetitive diving days. It is one of the most popular specialties for divers spending full days underwater here.

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) pathway

The PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty can be completed with knowledge development alone or combined with optional dives. It counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and is a smart pairing with deep or repetitive diving.

Where you'll dive in Papua New Guinea

Nitrox is especially useful on Kimbe Bay's seamounts and reef walls, where divers often log several dives a day; the warm 27-30°C water and dense coral make longer no-decompression times genuinely worthwhile, best enjoyed in the dry season from May to October.
