Course overview

Get more bottom time on Key Largo's reefs and wrecks with the PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty. You learn to analyse enriched-air tanks, set your computer and plan dives with longer no-decompression limits, which is ideal for the repetitive boat diving the Florida Keys is built around. This is one of the most practical certifications you can earn here, and it requires no extra dives to complete.

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) pathway

The PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty can be completed through knowledge development and tank analysis without mandatory training dives, and it counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. Enriched-air fills are widely available across Key Largo operators.

Where you'll dive in Key Largo

Nitrox is especially useful for Key Largo's repetitive, multi-tank boat diving on reefs like Molasses and Elbow and on deeper wrecks such as the Spiegel Grove. Calm, warm conditions through the April-to-October season make for plenty of back-to-back dives where extended bottom time pays off.
