Course overview

Build the confidence to respond in an emergency with the PADI Emergency First Response course in Raja Ampat, a land-based first-aid and CPR program suitable for divers and non-divers alike. Because remote Coral Triangle dive trips often sit hours from medical help, primary and secondary care skills are especially valuable here and form the prerequisite for the Rescue Diver and professional ratings.

What you’ll learn

• Perform primary care (CPR) on a non-breathing patient
• Deliver secondary care (first aid) for non-life-threatening conditions
• Conduct a scene assessment and barrier use
• Manage serious bleeding, shock and spinal-injury situations
• Use an automated external defibrillator where available
• Recognise and respond to common dive-related injuries

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• No minimum diving qualification
• Open to non-divers and all ages with parental consent for minors
• Reasonable physical ability to perform CPR compressions

1. Day1

   Complete CPR and first-aid theory, then practise skills and scenarios on land in a single classroom session.
