Course overview

Learn to respond to medical emergencies with the PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course at Kovalam, a dry, classroom-based programme suitable for divers and non-divers alike. You practise CPR, first aid and emergency management on land, gaining the skills that underpin the PADI Rescue Diver and professional courses. No diving or prior experience is required.

What you’ll learn

• Perform primary care (CPR) on an unresponsive casualty
• Provide secondary care (first aid) for injuries and illness
• Conduct a scene assessment and manage barriers to action
• Use an AED and provide emergency oxygen (where included)
• Manage shock, bleeding and spinal-injury situations

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• No minimum age for participation (suited to teens and adults)
• No diving or swimming required
• Willingness to practise hands-on skills

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Primary and secondary care

   Complete the CPR and first-aid modules with hands-on manikin practice and scenarios, then certify in Emergency First Response.
