Course overview

Build the first-aid confidence every diver and dive professional needs with the PADI Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care course on Grand Cayman. This classroom-based program teaches internationally recognised CPR and first-aid skills and is the required pathway toward PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster, so you can pair it with your dive training on the island. No water work or diving experience is required.

What you’ll learn

• Perform adult CPR and rescue breathing
• Manage a non-breathing or choking patient
• Control serious bleeding and treat for shock
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments
• Use barriers and an AED to reduce risk
• Recognise illness and injury and provide first aid

Prerequisites

• No diving experience or swimming ability required
• No minimum age for participation (certification typically issued from age 10+)
• Open to non-divers and divers alike
• No medical clearance required for the classroom course

1. Day1
   Primary and secondary care

   Classroom CPR, AED and first-aid skills with manikin and scenario practice, followed by the skills assessment and certification.
