Course overview

Cover more of Nusa Penida's reefs and ride its currents with the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle specialty, learning to operate an underwater scooter safely. A DPV lets you range further along sites like Toyapakeh and conserve energy against the drift, reaching more of the reef in a single dive. The certification qualifies you to dive with a DPV to recreational depth.

The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle pathway

PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle requires two training dives and certifies you to dive with a scooter to your certified depth. It counts towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Where you'll dive in Nusa Penida

DPV dives suit Nusa Penida's extended reef lines such as Toyapakeh and Gamat Bay, where a scooter helps cover more ground and work with the drift. The April-to-November dry season offers the steadiest conditions for scooter diving.
