Course overview

Begin your professional diving career with the PADI Divemaster course in Moalboal, Cebu, the first rung on the PADI professional ladder. Working from the busy Panagsama Beach dive scene, you build stamina and dive-leadership skills on the house reef and on boat trips to Pescador Island, learning to guide certified divers and assist instructors in one of the Philippines' most reliable year-round diving areas. You qualify to supervise dive activities and lead certified divers on guided tours.

What you’ll learn

• Lead and supervise certified divers on guided dives along the house reef and Pescador Island
• Assist PADI instructors with students in confined and open water
• Master dive-site mapping, briefings and the demanding watermanship and stamina assessments
• Conduct the dive-skills circuit to demonstration quality
• Manage dive logistics, risk assessment and emergency procedures
• Apply PADI dive theory across physics, physiology, equipment and decompression

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
• Emergency First Response (primary and secondary care) within 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Foundations & dive theory

   Programme orientation, dive-theory study and the watermanship/stamina assessments off Panagsama Beach.
2. Day2
   Skills & confined-water workshops

   Polish the 24-skill circuit to demonstration quality and assist confined-water training sessions.
3. Day3
   Mapping & guiding

   Create a dive-site map of the house reef and practise leading certified-diver dives.
4. Day4
   Assisting instructors

   Work with instructors and boat crews on open-water training dives, including trips to Pescador Island.
5. Day5
   Internship & assessment

   On-the-job experience leading guided dives and completing the final practical and theory assessments.
