Course overview

Become a PADI Divemaster on Koh Lanta and earn your first professional rating in one of Thailand's most varied dive playgrounds. Across roughly four weeks you build stamina and dive-leadership skills guiding fun divers and assisting on courses at sites from Koh Bida's coral walls to the deep, current-swept pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. You graduate certified to supervise certified divers, lead trips and assist instructors anywhere PADI is recognised.

What you’ll learn

• Supervise and guide certified divers on real dives at varied sites
• Assist a PADI Instructor with students in confined and open water
• Demonstrate the 24 dive skills to a professional, repeatable standard
• Map a dive site and brief divers on entries, hazards and conditions
• Manage dive logistics, emergencies and risk as a dive leader
• Conduct scuba reviews and lead the discover-local-diving program

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another agency)
• PADI Rescue Diver certification
• Emergency First Response (EFR) primary and secondary care within 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & water skills

   Complete the Divemaster knowledge development and begin watermanship and 24-skills practice in the pool.
2. Day2
   Demonstration standard

   Refine skills to demonstration quality and run rescue-assessment scenarios in confined water.
3. Day3
   Site mapping & guiding

   Map a local site such as Koh Bida and practise guiding certified divers on its coral walls.
4. Day4
   Course assisting

   Assist an instructor with real students in confined and open water across multiple training days.
5. Day5
   Deep & current experience

   Build experience leading dives at deeper, current-swept sites like Hin Daeng and Hin Muang.
6. Day6
   Assessment & certification

   Complete final exams, leadership evaluations and processing of your Divemaster rating.
