Course overview

Become a PADI Divemaster in Fiji and take your first professional role guiding certified divers across Beqa Lagoon's soft-coral pinnacles and the famous Pacific Harbour shark dive. Over six to eight weeks you build stamina, dive-leadership and supervision skills on sites such as The Bistro and Caesars, finishing ready to lead dives, assist instructors and begin a career in diving. It is the first rung of the PADI professional ladder.

What you’ll learn

• Guide certified divers and conduct thorough site briefings
• Assist a PADI Instructor with students in training
• Map a dive site and lead an open-water tour
• Demonstrate the 24 dive skills to demonstration quality
• Run the dive-rescue and search-and-recovery scenarios
• Apply dive theory, supervision and risk management as a professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• PADI Rescue Diver
• Emergency First Response (primary and secondary care) within 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician within the last 12 months

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & theory

   Programme orientation, dive-theory study and water-skills baseline assessment.
2. Day2
   Skill demonstration

   Polish the 24 core skills to demonstration quality and complete stamina exercises.
3. Day3
   Mapping & guiding

   Map a Beqa Lagoon site and lead practice tours such as Pearl Rock or Seven Sisters.
4. Day4
   Assisting students

   Work alongside instructors supervising students in confined and open water.
5. Day5
   Rescue & scenarios

   Run search-and-recovery and dive-emergency scenarios to professional standard.
6. Day6
   Assessment & certification

   Final exams, practical sign-offs and registration as a PADI Divemaster.
