Course overview

Become a PADI Divemaster in Bohol Panglao and earn your first professional rating, qualified to guide certified divers and assist on courses. Working from Alona Beach with regular trips to Balicasag and Pamilacan Islands, you build real leadership experience on the Philippines' walls and reefs while honing the demonstration-quality skills the rating demands.

What you’ll learn

• Guide certified divers and conduct dive briefings and site orientations
• Demonstrate the 24 fundamental scuba skills to demonstration quality
• Assist instructors with students in confined and open water
• Map a dive site and plan logistics for a guided dive
• Manage dive groups and respond to in-water problems
• Apply dive theory across physics, physiology, equipment and the RDP

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
• Emergency First Response (primary and secondary care) within 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and orientation

   Begin dive-theory study and Divemaster knowledge development, with a baseline skills review.
2. Day2
   Water skills and stamina

   Complete the swim, float and equipment-exchange evaluations and the tired-diver tow.
3. Day3
   Demonstration skills

   Refine all 24 scuba skills to demonstration quality on Panglao's reefs.
4. Day4
   Site mapping and planning

   Survey and map a dive site and practise dive-logistics planning.
5. Day5
   Practical workshops

   Run skin-water rescue scenarios and Divemaster-conducted programmes.
6. Day6
   Internship

   Assist on real courses and guide certified divers at Balicasag and Pamilacan under instructor supervision.
