Course overview

Become a dive professional with the PADI Divemaster course on Ambergris Caye, working alongside experienced staff on the Belize Barrier Reef. You build stamina and leadership skills guiding certified divers at reef sites like Hol Chan Marine Reserve, finishing qualified to supervise dives, assist on courses and begin a career in diving.

What you’ll learn

• Supervise and guide certified divers safely
• Assist instructors with student divers in confined and open water
• Conduct dive briefings, mapping and site management
• Demonstrate the 24 dive skills to demonstration quality
• Lead Discover Scuba and refresher experiences under supervision
• Apply dive theory, physics and physiology to real diving

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• PADI Rescue Diver certification
• Emergency First Response within the past 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & water skills

   Dive-theory study and water-skills assessments including the swim and float.
2. Day2
   Skills demonstration

   Polish the 24 core skills to demonstration quality in the calm shallows.
3. Day3
   Guiding practicals

   Map a site and guide certified divers at Hol Chan and nearby reef under supervision.
4. Day4
   Assisting & assessment

   Assist on a course, run emergency scenarios and complete final evaluations.
