Course overview

Try scuba for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience at Sipadan, a guided introduction on the calm, shallow house reefs off Mabul Island. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills and then breathe underwater among colourful corals, turtles and tropical fish, no certification or prior experience required. It is the easiest way to sample diving in one of the world's great reef regions.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba for the first time
• Use the mask, fins, regulator and BCD
• Clear water from your mask and recover your regulator
• Equalise and descend gently with your instructor
• Move and control buoyancy in shallow water
• Follow simple safety rules and hand signals

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or certification required
• Able to be comfortable in the water
• Basic health questionnaire (medical clearance if any condition applies)
