Course overview

Try scuba diving for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Port Blair, the gateway to the Andamans. Under the close supervision of a PADI professional you learn a few basic skills in shallow water before exploring a calm, coral-rich reef near Chidiyatapu down to a maximum of 12 metres. No certification or experience is required, just a sense of adventure.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba
• Use the mask, fins and regulator
• Equalise and move gently underwater
• Clear water from your mask and regulator
• Follow your instructor and basic hand signals
• Explore a shallow reef safely with guidance

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable general health and comfort in water
• Brief medical questionnaire completed before diving
