Course overview

Try scuba diving for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Hurghada, a guided introduction that takes you from a quick briefing to breathing underwater on a real Red Sea reef. Under the direct supervision of a PADI professional, you learn a few basic skills in shallow water before exploring the warm, clear shallows alive with reef fish and coral. It is the easiest possible first taste of the underwater world.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Clear water from your mask and recover your regulator
• Equalise your ears and move gently underwater
• Communicate with basic hand signals
• Stay close to your instructor and dive safely
• Spot common Red Sea reef fish and coral

Prerequisites

• No certification or prior experience required
• Minimum age 10
• Able to be comfortable in water
• Basic health questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)
