Course overview

Try scuba diving for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Djibouti, breathing underwater in the warm, calm shallows of the Gulf of Tadjoura. Under the direct supervision of a PADI professional you learn a few basic skills and make a guided dive to a maximum of 12 metres, an easy introduction to one of the Red Sea's most uncrowded reef destinations with no certification required.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Equalise your ears and clear water from your mask
• Recover and clear a regulator
• Move and maintain basic buoyancy with an instructor's guidance
• Follow simple hand signals and safe-diving practices

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Brief medical questionnaire completed before diving
