Course overview

Extend your range to 40 metres with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in Rasdhoo Atoll, where wall and channel sites drop steeply into blue water and reward divers who can go deeper safely. You will learn deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness on the atoll's dramatic drop-offs, finishing certified to plan and conduct dives to recreational depth limits.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute deep dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage gas supply, no-decompression limits and ascent rates
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Use a redundant air source and safety-stop discipline
• Monitor colour and light changes with depth
• Apply careful buoyancy control at depth on a wall

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver (with a Deep adventure dive) or Advanced Open Water
• Solid buoyancy and air-consumption control
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Deep-diving theory and planning, then two dives building depth on a local wall such as Bodu Gaa.
2. Day2
   Depth & certification

   Two further dives to the 40-metre range with narcosis and gas-management tasks, then certification.
