Course overview

Extend your range to 40 metres with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in Fiji, where Beqa Lagoon's pinnacles and the deeper Pacific Harbour walls drop into rich soft coral and big-fish territory. Across four dives you learn to plan deep dives, manage gas and time, and recognise narcosis while exploring sites such as Caesars and Carpet Cove. It certifies you to dive to the recreational limit of 40m.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to the 40m recreational limit
• Manage gas supply, no-decompression limits and turn pressures
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Make safety stops and manage ascents with a deeper profile
• Handle specialised deep-diving equipment and a redundant air source
• Account for colour loss, light and temperature changes at depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Cover deep-diving theory then complete your first two progressively deeper dives on a pinnacle such as Caesars.
2. Day2
   Deep profile & assessment

   Run two more dives toward the 40m limit, practising gas management and narcosis checks, and complete the assessment.
