Diving John Pennekamp's coral reefs, you learn to identify Florida Keys fish species and understand the ecosystem, building the awareness to dive responsibly and support reef protection. You finish a more knowledgeable, reef-conscious diver in one of the world's most carefully managed marine parks.

The protected coral reefs of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park near Key Largo, such as Molasses Reef, host abundant snappers, parrotfish, barracuda and turtles, making them an ideal living classroom for fish identification and conservation. Calm, clear conditions through the April-to-October season are perfect for survey work.
