Course overview

The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty fine-tunes your weighting, trim and breathing control so you hover effortlessly, a skill that protects Koh Lanta's fragile soft corals. On the coral walls of Koh Bida and the slopes of Koh Haa, precise buoyancy lets you glide centimetres above the reef without contact, conserving air and seeing more. You finish streamlined, perfectly weighted and far more relaxed underwater.

The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy pathway

The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. It is one of the most recommended specialties because better buoyancy improves air consumption, safety and reef protection on every subsequent dive.

Where you'll dive in Koh Lanta

The shallow coral walls of Koh Bida and the gentle slopes around Koh Haa are ideal buoyancy classrooms, with plenty to hover over and soft corals that reward a hands-off, contact-free style. Conditions are warmest and clearest in the November-to-April season at 27-30°C.
