Course overview

This entry-level Basic Diver program introduces genuine scuba skills and two supervised open-water dives, ideal for beginners not yet ready for the full Open Water course. On Zanzibar's calm reefs near Mnemba Atoll you learn the fundamentals to a maximum of 12m under direct instructor supervision.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and use basic scuba equipment
• Breathe comfortably and move underwater
• Clear the mask and recover the regulator
• Equalise and control descents and ascents
• Hold basic buoyancy and stay with your buddy
• Complete two guided reef dives to a maximum of 12m

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No prior experience or swimming certification required
• Basic comfort in water
• Medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

1. Day1
   Skills & first dive

   Safety briefing and confined-water skills, then a guided reef dive near Mnemba to a maximum of 12m.
2. Day2
   Second dive

   A second supervised open-water dive on a sheltered Zanzibar reef, consolidating your basic skills.
