Begin your certified-diving journey with the PADI Basic Diver programme in Tarkarli-Malvan, covering essential scuba skills and a supervised open-water dive in the calm, sheltered bay beside Sindhudurg Fort. It is a confidence-building first step that credits toward the full PADI Open Water Diver certification.
PADI's entry rating below full Open Water is the PADI Scuba Diver certification, a scaled-down course covering the first confined- and open-water dives. It lets you dive to 12 metres under professional supervision and credits directly toward the full PADI Open Water Diver rating.
Training uses the sheltered, shallow bay off Tarkarli and Malvan, beside the historic Sindhudurg Fort, where calm, shallow, clear warm 26-29C water in the post-monsoon October-to-May season, when the Konkan coast is calm and clear gives new divers a relaxed, forgiving introduction to certified diving.
