Course overview

The PADI Scuba Diver route is the ideal first step in Malta and Gozo when you want more than a try dive but have limited time. You complete the first portion of the Open Water course and dive to around 12 metres under professional supervision in the calm, clear water off Gozo and Cirkewwa. The training credits directly toward full Open Water certification.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and operate scuba equipment
• Breathe and move comfortably underwater
• Clear your mask and recover your regulator
• Equalise and control gentle descents and ascents
• Manage basic buoyancy under supervision
• Apply core safe-diving procedures

Prerequisites

• No prior experience required
• Minimum age 10
• Comfortable in water (short medical questionnaire)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the first knowledge sections and confined-water skills in shallow, sheltered water.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives

   Two supervised open-water dives to around 12 metres at a Gozo or Cirkewwa bay, then certification.
