Within the PADI system this entry-level training mirrors the PADI Scuba Diver pathway: you dive to around 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional, and the training credits toward the full PADI Open Water Diver certification.
Confined practice and open-water dives take place in sheltered shallows and over the Kovalam reef in the Arabian Sea, with warm 27-30°C water and the calm post-monsoon season (about October to March) ideal for first-time divers.
