Course overview

Take your first proper steps into scuba with the PADI Basic Diver / Scuba Diver programme in Fiji, a two-day course on Beqa Lagoon's sheltered soft-coral reefs. You learn core skills and complete supervised open-water dives in warm, clear water, earning a sub-certification that can be upgraded to full Open Water Diver. It is a flexible option if you are short on time but want more than a single try-dive.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and care for scuba equipment
• Breathe and move underwater confidently
• Clear the mask and recover the regulator
• Achieve basic neutral buoyancy
• Communicate with hand signals and dive with a buddy
• Complete supervised dives on a shallow reef

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No prior experience required (basic water comfort recommended)
• Able to complete a short swim and float assessment
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Skills & first dive

   Cover the first knowledge sections and confined-water skills, then make a supervised dive on a Beqa Lagoon reef.
2. Day2
   Second dive & certification

   Complete a second supervised dive, confirm skills and receive your PADI Scuba Diver certification.
