Course overview

The PADI Adaptive Support Diver course at Nusa Penida trains certified divers to assist buddies with physical or mental challenges, making the destination's diving more inclusive. It builds the awareness and techniques to adapt training and dive support for divers with differing abilities, valuable on Nusa Penida's gentler reefs where supported divers can safely enjoy the underwater world. It counts towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15 for Adaptive Support Diver
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or qualifying certification
• Comfortable buoyancy and buddy skills
• Diver medical clearance where indicated

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & techniques

   Cover the adaptive-diving knowledge development and practise support techniques in confined or sheltered water.
2. Day2
   Practical support

   Apply adaptive support on a guided dive at a gentle Nusa reef such as Sental, refining communication and assistance.
