What divers say
Frequently asked questions
Prerequisite?
15+ years old. Basic Freediver is recommended but not required — most schools allow direct entry into Level 1.
What's Frenzel equalisation?
The intermediate technique that replaces Valsalva (the 'pinch and blow' you use on planes). Lets you equalise efficiently below 10m. Most students learn it in pool session 2.
Can I skip Basic Freediver?
Yes — Freediver Level 1 is the standalone entry point recognised internationally. Basic Freediver is a stepping stone for those who want a slower progression.
How deep is 16m really?
About 5 storeys. From the surface you can still see daylight, but the pressure has doubled. Most students find depth psychologically harder than physically.
What if I fail the depth?
Pay-to-pass. We add open-water sessions at no extra cost. If you genuinely can't reach 16m (rare), you get the Basic Freediver cert + a rebook discount for the depth dive.
